Academic BIM workshop from March 2 to 4, 2020

More than 30 representatives from 18 universities and colleges met at TU Dresden and HTW Dresden, which organized the BIM workshop together with BTU Cottbus.

The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Transportation Sciences at the Excellence University TU Dresden, Professor Prokop, and the Head of the Planning, Construction and Innovation Division of the Autobahn GmbH des Bundes, Professor Christian Lippold. With various presentations on the basics of BIM in infrastructure, definitions, AIA and BAP and with the creation of an own infrastructure project for road/railway in the computer workshop of TU Dresden and the HTW Dresden the participants had the opportunity to get hands-on experience with BIM applications. In lively discussion rounds the existing teaching materials for lectures and seminars of the three organizers were presented with regard to methodology and content.

At the end of the event, it was agreed that teaching materials, a teaching example including digital data and the corresponding KorFin® software would be made available to all participants. The documents are to be deepened and extended for adult further education and also made available to all participants. The event will be continued in one year and will be supported by a common platform on which digital e-learning content will be shared.
